Each year the Preparatory Department of PSU welcomes foreign citizens. This year students from China, Lebanon, Cameroon, Turkey and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have come to Belarus for studying at Polotsk State University. They have been learning Russian and getting acquainted with life in Belarus for two months.
On October 30, PSU hosted an event called Study Russian Together. The atmosphere was friendly, listeners of the Preparatory Department met participants of the Voluntary Movement “My Belarusian Guide”, practised their language skills and said a few words about the culture and traditions of their countries.
Valter Kandolo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo: “I like such events for their warm atmosphere. Of course, I miss my family a lot. To my mind, the university is beautiful and cozy. I like it. And besides, I have already got used to Belarus”.
Hussein Rashini, Lebanon: “There are very good instructors at PSU! Thanks to them for treating students well and explaining everything clearly. They make Russian easier to learn as well”.
Francisco Soriano, the Democratic Republic of the Congo: “I liked the event very much, because it gave me a chance to meet new people. The number of faculties surprised me. I'm still getting used to Belarus, and I miss my family. Studying Russian is not easy too. Nevertheless, I believe I can do anything and will achieve all my goals!”
